Texturing Issue with Alembic Cached item

After importating a GEO cache into a scene, having some problems getting shader to adhere. The UV map appears to be in place, but when I go to assign the shader, which has a number of files as UDIMs, it seems like it's not reading the UDIMs correctly. When I use the same process for a an object without UDIMs it is not an issue. The only work-around I have now is to bake dynamic joints, then alembic cache for cloth and nHair in two separate steps. Works, but it's pretty sluggish.
Any ideas?
