Sudden UI problem with Maya 2018

I use Maya 2018 student version, but I hadn't used it in a week. When i booted it up, everything was enlarged, and I mean everything, except for the viewport which actually shrunk to accommodate everything else that exploded in scale. I've changed the interface scale to 100%, but everything is still larger than it was a week ago and there's also now a line of emptiness between the shelf and tool bar.Also the majority of the view port is blacked out. It works properly, but it's just unusable.

I've fixed the issue, I had to update my graphics drivers.

Try a reset of your preferences.
Rename the folder prefs in folder 2018 to something like prefs_backup, or to reset everything, the folder 2018 to 2018_backup (or even the maya folder to maya_backup). Maya creates new folders (don't copy preferences from previous Maya versions). Detailed at:

Also:

1. Make sure you use a proper 3D graphic card for Maya.
2. Update graphic card drivers.
3. Try different Viewport modes (like DirectX).
