static camera and basic XY tracking...

OK, so we all know MatchMover is as frustrating as a 5 handled hammer.  I get that.  I do NOT have the resources to purchase a better program, so please do not suggest that.  I searched the web for two days without any helpful results as well.

Match Mover tracks points fairly well for what I need.  My issue is that I cannot get any output from my tracking points that I can directly import into Maya.

I have a static camera and a moving person.  I'm just looking for some basic XY coordinates to help with rotoscoping.  I can output the info as an RZ2 file, but then I need a custom script to bring that data back into Maya.  I tried SS_Converter, but it has some scripting issues that are making it not work.  Also, it seems to load in a new image plane for each frame.  Too complex for my needs.

So, what am I missing that I cannot just get some locators to output from Matchmover?  I have used it successfully in the past to do some basic camera tracking, but I feel like I just got lucky and do not really understand what I am doing.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm slowly figuring this out, but OH MY!  I could use some extended documentation or tips from someone that uses this software.  I feel like I'm guessing my way through this.

I've turned to Mocha AE instead right now, since I'm under a deadline.  Mocha AE is included in After Effects CC and only allows for basic 2D tracking, but I've written some MEL scripts that allow me to extract the data from Mocha and use it in Maya with some great results.  I really would like to get some 3D data, but this Mocha alternative is good enough.

Sorry, Matchmover is a 3d tracking software. So the 2d tracking is a intermediate processes, and 2d tracking result couldn't export to Maya directly.

Sorry again!

Thanks, Tony.  I'll figure out a way to make it work for me eventually.  The potential is there for this program to be really good and useful.  Not as good as Mocha, but still usable for us on a budget.  Too bad development was stopped, but I understand.

Any chance of releasing the source code on this and opening it up to the community?  Just look at the development that happens in Blender.

10 years ago, I used macthmover for some projects. But as you said it's too old.

And I don't know anything about opening source code.
