Sound won't play in Maya 2020, Only plays when Scrubbing

When I import the music into the Maya scene it only plays when I scrub the timeline and I have the playback setting to real time which seems to resolve the issue for many but not for me..

I assume that your Evaluation Mode is set to DG? Assuming yes, then right-click on the timeline and disable "Cached Playback".

Sound should play after that. Let me know if that works.

Still get this issue in 2022 even with DG mode and no cached playback.

A couple of things I can think of:

• Make sure your Playback speed is set to Real-time
• Does this happen with every sound file? Maya doesn't like .wav files that have certain types of compression codecs. It should be PCM
