Hi,
I have some problems with the selection tool. When I select a face to hide it from the rest of the model, I notice one thing ... the faces behind other faces are not selected and for me it's important when I select come faces of my model, that all the faces of that particular point are selected
Maybe there is an option to turn ON or OFF to do that, but I don't know what it is ...
I wish I explained myself well, because enligh is not my first lenguage.
Thanks for helping me.

In the first picture I select all the faces I ned. In the second picture, you can see that the faces "behind" have not been selected... and this is wired because in the last version on Maya, even if I worked in the left view, the faces "behind" other faces, I was able too take them...
In the Modeling Toolkit panel on the left you have "Camera Based Selection" set to Auto.
Camera Based Selection has three possible options:
1) Off - select all visible/hidden polys that intersect the selection region
2) On - only select visible polys that intersect the selection region
3) Auto - select visible polys in shaded mode and all polys in wireframe
So to select all polys you can either 1) turn off Camera Based Selection or 2) switch to wireframe mode
