"file does not exist" problem

Hello,

 

I had to reinstall my maya2015. Than I tried to open my mb files but some cases i'v got:"file does not exist" message. The files have all the properties(size and so on).

I tied to attach one of them, but .mb extesion not valid for an attachment here.

 

Please, please help me!!! My half year work should lost.

You need to zip such files then they will attach, provided they are below the 5MB size limit.

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.

There was some special(hungarian) character in the file names.......Smiley Mad

They're renamed and they work now.Smiley Happy

I didn't want to create a new post, so I just wanted to ask how did you recovered the file. I worked on a design for a knife for my character on Maya 15 and I save everything on a different file, every now and then (I don't overwrite the files, it's better I guess). Today I tried to open them and Maya said for every one of them that "The file does not exist". I will be really thankful if you can tell me how to fix that.

Nevermind, fixed it. Basicaly the problem was the same, I had the file in a nameless folder which caused the problem. If someone has this issue, just check the path and make sure that everything is in latin I think. Sorry for the worthless question though

I solved this issue by renaming a folder in the path that the project was in.   

I removed a backslash "/" from a folder. Look for strange symbols/characters and remove them from folders and the project name itself.

The other day this happened to me and my file was still recent, all i did was make a new folder and move all the files.

For me, it worked just with moving the files to Desktop.
