Hi,

I'm trying to convert a procedural ramp shader to a bitmap texture and the following happens: I shift-click the object with the texture on it and the texture swatch in Hypershade, select "convert to file texture" and, instead of creating a bitmap texture, Maya duplicates the procedural material and adds it to the shading network. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous

Did you try these steps after shift clicking?

Let me know if this solves your issue!

Yes, I actually did a test with a simple sphere mapped with a checkerboard texture and that worked perfectly. I am wondering if there is something about my mesh, such as bad UV's.

Thanks, I've decided to re-make the mesh and texture.

I'm having exactly the same issue in Maya 2024.2 It happens randomly with any mesh and any material, even if opening Convert to File Texture options dialog.

I've included the scene, the video and log from Script Editor.
