Open Script in the Script Editor doesn't let me Execute selected text

When I open a MEL script in the Script Editor the file gets its own tab with the file name.

If I select some code in that tab the "Execute" button in the tool bar gets greyed out.

I can only run the all the code.

Is that intended?

Why?

Have you tried pressing the enter button on your numpad? I won't allow you to use the execute command but it will execute selected code just the same.

Yes, of course, I do that by default.

It seems that this restriction is intended.

Doesn’t make sense for me, though.

Thanks anyway for your reply 🙂
