need help with boolean problem !

hello friends .. I have this problem in Maya when am trying to Boolean (difference) it is not working as it should it's just drawing itself on the other object that should be cut !

 those is the two partsthe big one must be cuttenchose boolean "difference" so the small piece disappeard but didn't cut the big piece it draw itself !any help ?

oh thanks .. I found the solution .. I had doubled edges there .. that was the problem .. I deleted one of them and all done
