Multi-Cut freezes Maya

Anytime I want to Multi-Cut an object in the scene (with at least a couple subdivided faces) it causes Maya to freeze
I am using Maya 2019.3.1 but it happened to me with version 2019 as well, I tried reinstalling and with different meshes or new projects. I can't find anything related on the forums.

What can I do to prevent this?

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting! Just to clarify, you are seeing this crashing happening with all scenes?

Have you tried Resetting your Preferences to Default?

What GPU are you using? 🙂

Thanks again for being a part of our community!

Hey

Resetting the Preferences did make it work again, thank you very much.

The crash was happening on all scenes.
The problem is related to a terrain tool I am using.

I just baught a Maya license, and every day since install, Maya has crashed each time I attempt to use the Multi cut tool. I ****ing hate this tool. Why did you get rid of Split Polygon Tool??? It was working perfectly. Why "fix" something that isn't broken??? I have lost so much work in these last few days (5 days).

And just to be clear; I threw my preferences away and use the default ones. I have used Maya almost every day since 2000. This is the first time that my impression of Maya is that it is broken to the core, and regret buying this license. Guess that I need to shift over to Blender.
