Middle Mouse Pan not working Maya 2018 Mac

My middle mouse pan function doesn't work anymore randomly. I've tried updating the software, getting a new mouse, reinstalling the software, changing the mouse settings and nothing has worked. Please help. I need to complete an assignment soon.

Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous  and welcome to the community!

Have you tried deleting your settings/preferences?

Also, do you have any other devices plugged in like a tablet or cintiq? If so please unplug them and then launch Maya.

Finally is your Maya 2018 up to date and what version of Mac OS are you on?

I haven't been able to update my computer so I'm still on Mac OS 10.12.
But deleting my settings/preferences did not work.

Hi @Anonymous

Did this work before and just stopped working or has it never worked before?

You may want to perform a clean uninstall/reinstall of Maya.

It worked before and suddenly stopped working. I'll try that again and let
you know what happens.

Suddenly, the pan, zoom, and rotate mouse functions don't work. I'm not at
all sure what to do.

Hi @Anonymous

Try deleting your settings/preferences. If that doesn't help, you may need to update your mouse drivers and/or try another mouse.

Let me know if anything changes!

Hi @Anonymous

You mentioned a clean uninstall/reinstall worked but then it came back. Did you have a chance to try it again?

Had the same issue. With me it turned out to be the keyboard languages setting!

Normally I have this on US International (as my keyboard is), but Windows (10) lets you switch by pressing Alt-Shift. Once it was (accidentally) set to Dutch, Maya lost it. Just setting it back to ENG did the trick!
