Memory Leak? Maya 2016 Ext. 2, batch rendering a MASH animation

I've been trying to batch render a relatively simple MASH animation with Maya Ext. 2. Rendering with Mental Ray at only 640x640 pixels, 240 frames.

While rendering Maya's memory usage starts ramping up, and after about 1-2 hours I receive a system error message - "Your system has run out of Application Memory" and Maya/the render freezes. I have to force-quit the Maya instance. I've reset the PRAM and it still happens.

I've never seen this message on a Mac (ever, let alone from rendering in Maya).

Mac OS 10.9.5, 48 GB RAM, Quad-Core Mac Pro (2008, 3,1).

Hi chronopsis2

That does sound like a memory leak, I will be taking this case via the Autodesk Technical Support portal.  If possible could you please provide me with you file, this way I can run a test on both the Windows side, and also the Mac side.  What you are describing does sound like a memory leak, yet I want to troubleshoot on my end to see what module might be the culprit.  thank you for bringing this to our attention.  I look forward to your reply.
