Maya misbehaving

The above picture displays a random white window upon launch. It returns every time I open the program now. Also a scene I'm building starts to freeze when moving the perspective camera.

Thanks for posting! Is that by chance your Output window? This secondary window is required for Maya to run properly. 

For the slowness, I would recommend Resetting your Preferences to Default, and making sure that you have the latest update installed (also confirm that your Mac OS is supported for your specific version of Maya):

• Where to find updates for Maya (updates are NOT included in the initial installation of Maya, and need to be downloaded and applied manually).
