Maya keeps crashing, Please Help!

Spent the past few hours modelling and working in my scene, saving regularly. It ended up crashing after trying to undo an action. Now whenever I try to open an old save or the recovery file it instantly crashes as the viewport loads up. I've reset my preferences and that didn't help at all. Figured best course of action next would be to ask here. Any help  is greatly appreciated. It seems to be specifically the file I was working in that won't open, even though its an older save from before the crash

By "reset my preferences" did you mean you deleted the Prefs folder? You can just rename it, then reboot Windows (optional), just to be sure nothing remains in memory, and try again.
You can use the Output window to monitor and try to catch what was the last unsuccessful command that caused the crash. You may need to enable the Output window.
