I am trying to figure out what it is called and how to do when an object like a cloth moves but the texture does not deform or moved with the object, the two best examples I can think of are like in chowder where the character cloths have a texture that is like a hole revealing another layer or like with a cosmic character has part of their outfit show stars and when they move the part of the cloths and it shows a different stars like the cloths are a portal. I added a poorly drawn example.
like the textures project depth but the object still remain flat
Does anyone know the name for this?
or how to do this in maya?
