Maya freezes when adding a color

Hey everyone,

So I have been having issues with Maya. Every time I try to add some textures / colors to my models, my Maya just freezes for quite sometime then it kicks me off the color editing window. Any solutions out there?

This is interesting as I've never seen this issue before!

Is there a freeze when you just change the color from gray to black for example? Or is it only when you go to apply a texture file?

If its from a texture file, what format is the image? Png, jpg, tga etc.

When you get a chance, would you mind attaching the texture file here so I can take a look at it?

I am very sorry for not responding sooner. I re-installed Maya to hopefully fix the situation, it still caused these random freezes, but after a while, it just started working perfectly fine again. I am not entirely sure what happened. For the moment, this is resolved. Thank you very much and sorry again for the delay.

No need to apologize I'm just glad you're not having the issue anymore! It's definitely unusual for the freeze to just disappear like that
