Maya doesn't load on Mac M2 (icon bounces; Autodesk Licensing Service is not working)

Over the last months I've had an issue of Maya not launching on my Mac. The icon bounces and disappears. Through chat support we've deducted that the issue was that my Autodesk Licensing Service was not running. I've installed it, Maya launched once and worked fine, however on the second launch, the same thing occurred- the icon bounces and the software doesn't load. I checked if the License Service was running through Activity Monitor and it wasn't. So I installed it again and it worked again. On the second launch Maya didn't load. I've been living this groundhog day far too long now. How do I fix this issue? Why does the license stop running?

Hi,

We are aware of this issue but haven't been able to reproduce it yet.

In this another forum thread someone reported they were able to lauch the licensing components manually:

I ran both:
Autodesk_Licensing-12.0.0.6529_02
and
Autodesk_NLM-11.18.0.0_01

found in: /Applications/Autodesk/Arnold/mtoa/2023/license/installer

Maya 2023 now bounces, stops and then launches (as does Mudbox 2023).

Hi,

I have posted some troubleshooting steps to try in the other post.

Please let me know if you were able to resolve the issue using those steps.

Thanks.

That's good news.

I would recommend also checking in your settings to make sure the licensing service is allowed to run in the background.
