Hi,
I will start off by saying I know there have been similar posts on this forum before however have searched them and tried all the fixes I could find to no avail.
I've been using Maya 2020 on Windows 10 since having to stay at home with no issue. A couple of days ago an issue cropped up where I currently can't open Maya as it crashes immediately on the splash screen. I have tried multiple fixes including a full fresh install of Maya and any other related Autodesk applications. I have a university project due soon and am not sure what else to try or do.
I can provide any other information needed and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Hello @Anonymous,
I will move this post to the Maya forum for you, as it is the proper place. You confirmed that you were able to use Maya 2020 for sometime.
Try locating the data from the crash then review "General Troubleshooting Steps for Maya" to help pin point the cause & troubleshoot it. This could be related to a file or display issue.
Object/File
Try to rename the file or copy/paste to a new drawing file.
Display
If the issue is not associated with the file, it could be display related or performance, like a graphics or settings.
Please "Accept Solution" if a reply or replies have helped resolve the issue or answered your question, to help others in the community.

Hi Natasha,
Thanks for your reply, unfortunately, I can't see any sort of crash report or related file so I believe it's just not launching. It's not to do with the specific Maya file as it happens when I launch for the shortcut or the desktop app.
Thanks again,
John
Hi @Anonymous
Thanks for posting! To begin troubleshooting, please Reset your Maya Preferences to Default. This will bring Maya back to a "factory default" like setting.
Also, I would recommend running a DxDiag report and checking the Driver Date (under the Display tab, on the right) to see if your graphics card drivers need to be updated.

Hi Jordan,
My drivers seem to be up to date and I've tried a fresh install of both Maya and any Autodesk related program so I would presume that Maya is already set to its default. Thanks for the reply though I'll keep the dx diag thing in mind for the future (just in case haha).
Thanks,
John
Hi,
I had still followed the steps, I was more meaning I presumed it didn't change much sorry.
I'm still just getting less than a second of the splash screen and then nothing. Would it be worth me uploading the dxDiag text document in case I missed something, I don't know if there was anything else I should have looked for.
