Maya crashes when the cursor is dragged over tools

Maya crashes when the cursor is dragged over tools and then a the daiilog box starts to appear about the details about the tool and then suddenly maya closes.

can you please try to disable the Display Toolclip function in Maya at Windows > Settings/Preferences > Preferences > Help:

To find the cause of the issues, some more details would be helpful:

• Which version of Maya are you using?
• Which graphic card are you using? Could you update the drivers?

I don't think I can update drivers (correct?)
