Would love to check it out. Hopefully the 2025 system requirements will be updated soon.

Thanks for the update!

Just one question - the Maya Installer still prompts you to install Rosetta 2 on Apple Silicon.

Will that be changed? I would have assumed the installer would be updated, since Maya has been on Apple Silicon since last year.

Hope it is okay to ask this here.

Well, good changes in some key features - would prefer initial version of 2025 to add smart extract as part of normal (w) like shift it has w/extrude already. Just to NOT add custom key 🙂 ...well, anyways - good features.

Now the complaining part: Bifrost and Arnold are pretty much unusable w/GPU render (at least on my rig). Everything should be up to date, newest drivers everywhere and I cannot figure out WHY Maya crashes.

TO reproduce:

1. Basic settings for Arnold w/GPU enabled. 2x AA for camera. Disabled adaptive.

2. Basic cube w/Bifrost aero. Nothing else (just create)

3. 120 frames as default.

4. Skydome enabled

5. Render w/view. Crash.

I mean....simple thing, nothing fancy - just unusable. MANY MANY tickets created already.

I was told that Rosetta 2 is still required for the MtoA and Substance installers.

Hi Brent,

much appreciated to get a response so quickly!

IIRC the prompt was when you click on the Maya installer and before you can select which components to install.

So no way around it atm.

Other than that I am really enjoying Maya on my Macbook

Thanks again for the response

Does Maya 2025 (Indie) include Arnold for batch rendering without watermarks?  I've purchased Maya 2025 Indie, this is not a trial.  Thank you.

I'm currently getting an error when I try to render using Arnold in Maya 2025.  From my mayaRenderLog.txt file:

No, Arnold licenses are a separate purchase.

Maya and 3ds Max remove the watermark when you render in the user interface (IPR, Render Current Frame, Render Sequence). Batch renders require an Arnold license.
