Are there any crash reports on the Mac system, can use the system console app to check

can you launch Maya from a Terminal window to see what output if any is output to the terminal shell

from Terminal shell, run

/Applications/Autodesk/maya2023/Maya.app/Contents/MacOS/Maya

there may also be logs found in your $TMPDIR directory, licensing….

Hello, this happened to me on my M1 Mac Mini when trying to upgrade from Maya 2022 to 2023, I think this applies to all macOS operating systems regardless if it's Intel or Apple silicon, but to solve the problem, you'll need to do a clean install and completely uninstall Maya by following the link below:

Hope this helps

How is maya working out on m1 for you? I’m running maya 2023 on my m1 max macbook and it crashes all the time. It has been a horrible experience so far. And it looks like autodesk isn’t doing anything to make it apple silicon ready like Houdini, C4D, Nuke, Blender etc has already done.

are there any CER reports, crash logs, either in your $TMPDIR directory or Apple /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports  ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports ?

if you run Maya from the Terminal what if any output is displayed when the crashes occur.

/Applications/Autodesk/maya2023/Maya.app/Contents/MacOS/Maya

I’ve sent like 10 crash reports to autodesk. How do you run maya from the terminal exactly?

Putting the CER numbers here makes it easier to find those reports

from a Terminal window,

Finder->Go->Utilities->Trrminal

enter the command line above, ie

/Applications/Autodesk/maya2023/Maya.app/Contents/MacOS/Maya

the crash report will be more meaningful if mtoa plug-in is not loaded

I have been refunded for my Mac license. Either on M1 or Intel, the performance is unacceptable. Very disappointed with Autodesk.
