Hello @Anonymous,

thanks for your post! Are you running Windows on a MAC with Bootcamp?

Can you please send me a NFO file of your computer configuration in a Private Message to me? Here is an instruction, how to get the NFO file: How to obtain a System Information file (NFO) for diagnostics and troubleshooting (the article is listed under 3ds Max, but the procedure is not related to a program). The NFO file is listing driver versions, error logs etc. and helps to find the reason for the hanging behavior of Maya on your system.

Looking forward to your reply!

Best regards,

Patrick

Hello Patrick,

I managed to solve the issue.

I did a clean installation of Maya and everything associated with it.

I also deleted all the installed files  everything associated with Autodesk

It was difficult to uninstall maya fully, especially Autodesk's Genuine services application. Every time i tried it didn't uninstall,  instead it took me to Autodesk's website which was rather annoying.

I somehow managed to uninstall it by deleted the programme files first and then then uninstalling it.

Then I reinstalled maya 2020 and it worked fine. it did not hang like before.

I think the problem is that when i encountered this issue first, i uninstalled maya and reinstalled it again, however the problem was still there, maya 2020 kept hanging even when i reinstalled it. It's because I believe Autodesk's Genuine Services programme wasn't allowing me perform a clean uninstall.

i have another question, my project file takes so long to open for about 15-20 minutes. Is that normal?

Best,
