Maya 2018 UI issues

Hi,

I'm having some weird UI issues with Maya 2018 - that just started recently.  I'm getting a large Status Line, and a portion of my viewport is black.   My graphics card is a GeForce RTX 2070 with Max-Q Design, and my driver version is 417.49.

Thoughts?  It's strange, because with this exact setup, I had no problems about 2 weeks ago.

After this happening this morning, I updated to Autodesk_Maya_2018_6_Update_dlm.  The problem still persists.

Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous

You can try going to Windows->Settings/Prefs->Preferences->Display and change the rendering engine settings.

If that doesn't help then this may be happening because the 2080s aren't officially supported with Maya 2018 only 2019.

Hi Sean,

Thanks for replying.

That's interesting, because I was having no issues about 2 weeks ago with the same card in Maya 2018.

I can change my display settings to render in Direct X, and that solves the viewport issue, but not the Status Line weirdness I'm seeing - Does that look right to you?

Thanks again,

Matt

Hi @Anonymous

What status line issue are you talking about?

If it's just showing miscellaneous errors but everything is working as expected you can ignore them.

Hi Sean,

The status line is abnormally tall - I'm attaching an image.  It's just taking up real estate in my UI for no reason.  This started just recently -

Hi @Anonymous

Its probably due to a GPU incompatibility with 2018. There might have been a driver update and/or some change that is causing it. It also just may have been a fluke that 2018 was working with your GPU seamlessly.

Can you possibly try using Maya 2019 and see if that works?

Hi Sean,

I can try that after I'm finished with the show I'm working on - they are all on 2018.

Thanks,

Matt
