As far as I know, most of the other important functions work. The FBX plugin didn't work because Maya was trying to load the 2017 version, but I managed to remedy that by loading the proper version. I think it's trying to do the same thing with OpenMayaUI, trying to load last year's version. @Stephen.Blair , I ran the Dependency Walker like you said but I never got a response from you or Sean after. Is there a way to to switch what version Maya tries to load from, or is that not the issue?

is it correct that you try to load a plugin compiled for 2017 in 2018?
that will not work since major releases are usually not compatible in that regard.

in general: to make sure maya loads the correct version of whatever while having multiple versions on the same machine i highly recommend environment variables like:
maya_location, plugin_path etc.

YOU'RE HAVING A BLOODY LAUGH, AIN'T CHA?

39caf019cb05c0b54d4931a51334b3b1IT WORKED. @_sebastian_f, YOU LEGEND, YOU.

Does beg the question why Maya doesn't automatically set the App Path to the current installation folder. If it gives you the option to keep your old preferences the first time you open it, it shouldn't switch the app directory to the previous version if it's going to cause errors like the ones I hit. I dunno. Thanks anyway!

I don't understand what your screenshot shows in relation to this issue.

ActorX.mll shows up in my plugins window in Maya 2018, but when I try to import a .psk, I get an error saying it is an unrecognized file type.  I'm trying to figure out how to create the environment variable you speak of, but I'm not experienced on the syntax necessary to do so.
