Maya 2018 Image plane disappeared

Hello,

I was working on Maya 2017 on a scene including an image plane.

Now that I brought it to the latest Mtoa of Maya 2018, my image plane remain invisible and i just have my objects floating in the physical sky. And my shadow matte stays black...

I tried puting it as a background image but if it works for my plane, i still can see my physical sky 😕

Anybody ? please

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the community!

Can you please post a screenshot or video of your issue?

If you need a video capturing program, Screencast is a great option that we use here at Autodesk

Also can you zip and attach the scene file here or via dropbox/google drive or another file sharing program so I can take a look at it?

Let me know if anything changes!

I also send you the screenshot of my render window.

Hi @Anonymous

Thank you for attaching your entire project folder it's extremely helpful!

I was able to load the image onto the perspective camera 1 which I believe is the set up you were looking for?

The steps I took are:

1. Copied your project folder and pasted it into mine

2. Set project and opened the scene in Maya 2018

3. Selected the persp1 camera in the Outliner

4. Selected the imagePlaneShape1 tab

5. Loaded the image from the Source Images folder

Let me know if these steps help resolve your issue or if it is still occurring and we can troubleshoot further!

Nope, unfortunately it didn't change anything 😕

When i turn on Maya 2.0 to check on my render view, image appeares. I believe it is linked to arnold then, but I have no idea what to modify.

Hi @Anonymous

This is pretty unusual Smiley Frustrated

When you get a chance, can you please make a video showing your issue and how the image wont appear on the image plane? I'd like to see the differences on your machine as opposed to mine and see if maybe there's a step one of us is missing!

Hey !

It's all fixed! It was problem with:

my physical shader connected to the background.

In my dome light, camera visibility set on 1. At 0, everything appeared.

Thanks for following the case 🙂

I also faced this issue today,

I started a car model yesterday night, and today morning when i opened the file i couldn't see any image plane.

Thanks to @sean.heasley for reminding me of Outliner i selected individual image plane layers and in attribute editor> Image Plane Attribute i switched to "in all views" then back to "look through camera"

You mention that you fixed the issue by altering your dome light config from 1 to 0. Can you help me with this? I am very new to Maya, and I can't figure it out. Could you please walk through the steps of changing the dome light from 1 to 0? I would really appreciate it. Otherwise, I look forward to hearing from you and hope you have a splendid day 🙂 !
