I am working Maya 2018.2
I returned to work on a project I was working on the other day, and for some reason, it kept on crashing Maya. I realized it might have been because Arnold 5 was not being loaded into the plugin manager. So I decided to load it from the manager, but as soon as I tried, within 5 seconds, Maya had a fatal crash error.
Minutes later, I had reset my preferences, restarted my Mac, cleared my PR ram, and even tried to open files that did not contain any Arnold shaders or models. Then it began to just crash on startup — not allowing or giving me the chance to save even the blank scene it loads.
I saw this link Maya 2018 Crash Arnold and hoped it could shed some light on what I was doing, but unfortunately not.
I have attached the scene I was working on, and maybe someone can shed a light on whats happening that I'mm not catching.
I can provide other info upon request.
