Ive tried everything and still Maya wont work on my system

I have a fairly brand new pc gaming setup

here are my specs

CPU|Intel Core i7-7700K|
GPU|Nvidia GTX 1080|
SSD|Samsung 860 EVO M.2 500GB|
SSD|Samsung 850 Evo 250GB|
RAM|G.SKILL F4 DDR4 3000 C15 2x8GB|
MBD|Asus STRIX Z270E GAMING|

I am running windows on 64 bit

My graphics card has been updated to the latest driver and it is a 1080 gtx

I have everything up to date and all Microsoft packs installed

Both the 2017 and 2018 maya simply wont launch and keeps giving me the same fatal error

Can anyone help?

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the community!

Our officially supported driver for your 1080 is version 390.77. When you get a chance, can you please rollback to that driver version and then try to launch 2018? You can find a download for version 390.77 here!

Nvidia has steps on rolling back driver version you can follow here!

Ive removed all my current updated drivers and performed a clean install to put in the drivers you recommended.

It changed nothing and when I try and launch Maya it gives me the same errors.

Hi @Anonymous

Hmm ok.

Can you please completely uninstall Maya 2017 and then perform a clean uninstall/reinstall of Maya 2018?

You also may want to try deleting your settings/preferences after reinstalling 2018 then try to launch Maya.
