Hey!

Everytime I press anywhere inside maya, selecting object,creating object, or anything it gives me stack trace errors,

// Error: line 1: Cannot find procedure "dR_selTypeChanged". //
// Error: line 1: Cannot find procedure "dR_selPrefChanged". //
// Error: line 1: Cannot find procedure "dR_updateToolSettings". //

// Error: line 1: Cannot find procedure "dR_updateCommandPanel". //
// Error: line 1: Cannot find procedure "dR_updateToolSettings". //

Tried finding a solution but without any luck 😞

Anyone know what could help?

Cheers,

Have a look at your plugin-mamager if the "modellingToolkit.dll" is loaded!

I too am having this issue.

It got worse in Maya 2017 relese 3

Before release 3 I could just reload the modeling toolkit by going to:
Windows > Modeling Editors > Modeling Toolkit
but I get this error:
// Error: file: D:/programs/Autodesk/Maya2017/scripts/startup/UIComponents.mel line 1294: Object 'NEXDockControl' not found. //

I tried turning off auto load for the plugin but it comes in anyway.

Hi @jonas,

There is a forum thread that might be linked to your issue:

Modeling toolkit not working and generating constant errors (Maya 2017 Update 3)

It was solved by removing all .mel and .xml files from prefs folder (leaving just folders with icons, scripts, shelves, etc.) and doing re-installation of Update 3.

I hope it will help you.

Hey, deleting the files and reinstalling fixed it.

Must been some strange things happening at update,

but glad it all works now 😄 thanks a lot

Having the exact same issue (screenshot attached).  Whenever I perform a click or command I receive this error:

In no way is this error solved!

// Error: line 1: Cannot find procedure "dR_updateToolSettings". //

// Error: line 1: Cannot find procedure "dR_updateToolSettings". //

// Error: line 1: Cannot find procedure "dR_updateToolSettings". //

// Error: line 1: Cannot find procedure "dR_updateToolSettings". //

// Error: line 1: Cannot find procedure "dR_updateToolSettings". //

I just installed "Update 3". I attempted to delete my preferences and reinstall update 3 with no luck.

Currently I am using Windows 7 64bit.

I updated hoping to solve other bugs I was experiencing only to run into a new one.  Thanks maya!

Hello,

In response to this fix, how exactly do you reinstall an update? we are at update 4 and theres no option on the Autodesk Desktop App to do so.

This step has not been explained at all, in fact I saw someone else asked in the linked thread and was also not answered? are we expected to reinstall the entire program?

I'm having the same issue with 2018.5 and haven't been able to resolve it yet...

Actually the comments at the end of that thread solved the issue, you need to delete (or in my case replace/revert) the drInit.mel file

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-forum/modeling-toolkit-not-working-and-generating-constant-error...

I found the culprit:

Look for the drInit.mel file in your maya/2017/scripts folder. If you delete it and start maya, you won't get the errors anymore.
