Maya 2017 .MA file will not LOAD, Please Help!

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to access a .MA file that I saved and when I go to open the file in Maya it is stuck in a perpetual state of loading. I have also found that successive attempts to open the file will blue screen crash my computer.  The file is only 21mb and files of this size usually open quickly. I've waited for quite a lengthy period of time with my hopes up yet experienced no success. Something is clearly amiss?!

Would anyone happen to know a fix for this issue as I put quite a bit of work into this file and it is the only version that I have saved?

I've attached imagery of the perpetually loading file along with the blue screen crash for reference.

Thanks!

I have included the .ma file in the following attachment.  It's originally 21MB but I compressed it to 4mb to post it here.

Thanks!

Hi!

The file is corrupted, so it can't be restored.

"...it is the only version that I have saved"

Really bad to have no backups, sorry i can't help you with this.

My advice for the next time, save incremental copies as often as possible.

Yes, I usually always incrementally save yet this happened to be the sole exception. I wonder how a file gets corrupted so that I can avoid having this happen in the future??

Nevertheless, thanks so much for taking a look at the file!

Hi!

"I wonder how a file gets corrupted so that I can avoid having this happen in the future??"

The answer for this would be larger than you might expect and out of the scope of this forum.

In short: You can't avoid it.

(If this happens more often, then someone should have a look at your Hardware and Software Configuration)

A Tip: From time to time save an additional copy as .mb, and of course delete history as often as possible,

you can't do more.
