Maya 2017 Files Not Recognized When Opened

For some reason my maya files arent recognizing Maya 2017 I tried the "Open with" option and its still not recognizing maya 2017 either

Hi @metalheadmortal 

if your os doesn't recognize .ma or .mb extensions 

- reinstalling Maya is fix this

- or you can go with this easy solution: watch the video attachment "manageFileExt.mp4"
