MASH Instancer Instance List is Empty after Scene Load

I have a very unique issue here.   After loading a scene that has many MASH networks, I noticed that the Instancer node's Instance List is empty.  See the attached image for clarity.  Yet, the MASH netowrk still works fine.  The objects are still there.  I just can't replace the objects with, say, a newly revised version of the object.  I have to rebuild the network from scratch.  Of course, this doesn't happen normally.  It's just happening in this scene.  Perhaps this is a Maya 2020 issue.  I'm not sure yet.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, interestingly, simply reloading the scene, the objects show in the list.  The GUI wasn't showing it, even though the scene was technically not broken.
