MASH ID Node Error

Whenever I apply an ID Node to my Mash Network I get this error message.

C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2017/plug-ins/MASH/scripts/AEMASH_WaiterTemplate.mel line 832: No object matches name: MASH1.inPositionPP

Anyone know how to fix this?

I get a similar error in my scene, not exactly the same, though, but maybe related:

// Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2017/plug-ins/MASH/scripts/AEMASH_WaiterTemplate.mel line 605: menuItem: Object 'waiterSoupCM1' not found.

Anything on this?

Hi!

Try a reset of your preferences.
Rename the folder prefs in folder 2017 to something like prefs_backup, or to reset everything, the folder 2017 to 2017_backup. Maya creates new folders. Detailed at:

I was trying to connect nparticles with mash waiter node an i had this error

"No object matches name: MASH1.waiterMessage"

So i solved, the solution was to delete the mash node, create again and named MASH1 that's it.

hope this help guys.

Cheers

This cannot be correct as I just restored default preferences yesterday. It's amazing how it seems the only solution proposed for most errors is the nuke your preferences  and start anew. How many revisions of this software have we suffered thru?

seriously, its like every problem i look for a solution here, the answer is delete prefs..This is not a solution..its a bad workaround.

I agree. The preferences get so regularly corrupted in maya. I have to delete them on an almost daily basis at work... This feels very much like a workaround for issues that have existed since the beginning of time... If Autodesk dont fix these issues, companies are going to start migrating to other software...
