I can't EXTRUDE. PLEASE, HELP ME !!!

I am trying to Extruding in Maya2016, but then, this came out.. 

           "// Warning: file: D:/Auto Desk/Maya2016/scripts/others/performPolyExtrude.mel line 662: Select a poly component or object to extrude."

Does the problem lies in the " performPoly.mel " file? Like somewhat corrupted, etc. ? 

I appericiate any kind of help, please help me out.

If the problem indeed lies with the "performPoly.mel " file, may i ask for a copy from your computer?

seems like your model is a NURBS object so you can not extrude it.

I followed a certain guys' turotial, he can extrude it while i cant..
If you have time, please check this video, it is around the 20-30minute mark or something..

like i said before for me it looks like you created a nurbs surface. the guy in the tutorial is using polygons. so start from a polygon object and you should be fine.
