error when using 3d paint tool

i get this error when i try to use 3d paint tool

// Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2016/scripts/others/art3dPaintCheckDefaultBrush.mel line 139: No object matches name: art3dPaintLastPaintBrush

cannot access tool options to change brush size etc

anyone know what may be causing it?

Well, I just subscribed for the month and now the tool is available.  Perhaps you're on the trial to?

Got it back by clearing the workspace and letting it rebuild
