How to make a scene transition?

Basically so I animated my character walking up and talking for a little bit, so now I want the camera to switch instantly to the next person, like a new scene I guess, a transition, but.... how can I do this I cant find any online tutorials everything is just done on 1 camera and yeah, is this even possible? Im super new to maya btw

I recommend to create a new Maya scene for a "new scene".

What do you mean with "transition", usually any kind of transition is done with the rendered images in post and not in 3D.

However you could make a transition in 3D by changing the visibility of certain objects and/or moving the camera to the next position.
