How to enter the size of a texture

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I'm trying to do a floor with a pattern I have done myself. I have found how to load the design as a texture but I can't find the settings to choose its size and how many times it will repeat itself.

Thanks a lot for your precious help,

Johanna.

Hi!

You can do this by scaling the UV's in UV Editor or by using the place2dTexture node connected to your texture.

Hi Mspeer, thanks a lot !

I've tried to use those tools, which are quite new to me.

On the UV editor (what a good tool btw !) I can't see how to indicate that I'd like each stripe to measure 2cm. I see only how to move  the polygone plane I have created on the pattern, but it is not what I want. I've read the manual but I can't find precisely what I need.

Would you help me again ?

I join a picture of my actual step in the project.

Thanks a lot,

Hi!

There are no units in UV Editor you have to use math on your own.

If your object has an overall length of 10 cm, then you need 5 stripes to have 2 cm per stripe.

Ok. It is a big issue since I need to do a floor that looks infinite... There is no way to indicate the real size of the pattern ?

Thanks for all thoses answers

Johanna.

Hi!

"Ok. It is a big issue since I need to do a floor that looks infinite..."

Not really, you can choose a finite part as reference.

"There is no way to indicate the real size of the pattern ?"

No.

There should be a place2dTexture node next to your texture/file node by default, please check with Attribute Editor or Node Editor.
