Help with corrupted .MA files

Hi! I've been modeling different objects that I'm going to put together in one scene, and right now each objects is in its own scene which. I have been saving the scenes incrementally as .ma, but now some the scenes are corrupted except for the scenes for one object (the chair). When I tried to open one of the scenes I get an error message saying "Error: line 0: Erros reading file" or "Error: line 1.68: Syntax error". I've tried renaming it but it didn't work, and importing it to another scene didn't work either. I'm also trying to mess around with the code to see where the error is, but I haven't found it. I made a copy of the project directory and named the project folder "Corrupted files" and deleted all the scenes that are not corrupted, and I've been using this copy of the project directory to try to figure out what's going on so that I don't mess with the original. I'm attaching the zip file here and I would really appreciate it if someone could donwload it and help me figure out what's going on. Thanks!

Hi!

All 5 *desk* files are corrupted, but I can't say what caused this.

Do you use any scripts or 3rd party plug-ins?

Its corrupted because you are not deleting your history, clean up the scene and continue working.

Yes that sounds like that might be the problem, but I can't open the file in Maya to delete history. Is there a way to do this in the code?

Hi!

As @damaggio said deleting history is every time a good advice, but the corruption of your files looks very special, so I am not sure if this is the cause.

I recommend to install Maya 2018 update 1 and

try a reset of your preferences.
Rename the folder prefs in folder 2018 to something like prefs_backup, or to reset everything, the folder 2018 to 2018_backup (or even the maya folder to maya_backup). Maya creates new folders (don't copy preferences from previous Maya versions). Detailed at:

I actually had been working on Maya 2018, and I uninstalled it and installed it again and it didn't work. I also tried resetting my preferences like you said and that didn't work either. I tried uninstalling Maya 2018 again and installing Maya 2017 and that didn't work either. I uninstalled Maya 2017 and installed Maya 2018 but it's still not working. I'm going to keep messing with the code, but I it looks like these files can't be fixed...

Hi!

The files are corrupted and can't be restored. My suggestion (and that from @damaggio) was to prevent this happening again.

Maya 2018 default blank file size is below 60 KB.

Your rest of files which is 60 KB and more than 60 KB is working fine.

try it.
