Help! Mouse input ignored in viewport (mac)

I just started using maya on my mac and there's a real annoying bug.

I copied my maya folder from a windows 10 PC and put it into a mac, to keep all my scripts. That worked.

Just one problem

- randomly and very often the viewport doesn't register mouse inputs. Imagine that half the time you held Alt and clicked to move your view, it didn't do anything. It's not just navigation but everything happening in the viewport, hotboxes, tools, etc, sometimes ignoring my mouse buttons (but I can still move the mouse and there's no lag at all) The outliner and any other window than the viewport seems to be fine, however.

I'd like to know how this can be fixed without deleting all my  scripts and settings, if possible.

Hi @exsulator

Unfortunately the easiest way to test this is to reset your settings/prefs. That said, you can easily make a back up of your current settings/prefs and then test to see if the mouse input issue still happens.

Also, you could try using a different mouse to see if anything changes.

I ended up deleting and reopening maya a few times. In the end I was able to keep most of my stuff which saved me, and the problem was solved.

It's a pain to reopen the incredibly slow starter that is maya 2018 for every attempt, though. Problem located in maya / 2018 / prefs, where I deleted everything that wasn't a folder
