Freezing when using File>import, or save

Hi,

I'm a complete newbie, so this may be simple.

I'm using Maya 2015, pack 5 update, Educational version.

I can import objs by dragging from an explorer folder, but if I use the file menu for import, or for save, everything freezes permanently. File sizes are small (10mb).

Any ideas? It seems more buggy vs something stupid I'm doing, but I've been wrong before..

Fixed it. Went into file preferences, changed the file dialogue option to native OS instead of default.
