FBX MATERIALS NOT EXPORTING. 

The plug-in does not support the following material types:

Material eye_out_shd will be exported as a grey Lambert material.

Material eye_in_shd will be exported as a grey Lambert material.

Material eye_wetness will be exported as a grey Lambert material.

Material eye_meat will be exported as a grey Lambert material.

Material plan will be exported as a grey Lambert material.

Material head_SHD_SG will be exported as a grey Lambert material.

 

I looked in the other solution doesn't work at all

FBX does not work with third party materials.

It also does not work arnold materials.

 

Use blinn or lambert shaders.

Its VRAY Materials.

Your work is awesome.  I try to export a human head to unreal.

I try to export in FBX.

Hi!

 

VRay is also 3rd party.

Please as @Christoph_Schaedl  suggested use Maya materials like

Blinn, Lambert or Phong

and create the final materials and shaders in Unreal.

I can't change materials like that. Why dont you guys understand. It will
drastically decrease my quality. I'm working cinematic digital human
character. I'm using vray for unreal also. Why is it so hard to send it to
other programs or at least taking export for other softwares... please find
the solution what you mention is not solution

There's no solution for this, that's just how things work in the year 2019, you could look into Vray for Unreal plug in "or" redo everything in Unreal which can achieve very realistic results as well.

I don't understand what you exactly mean. You mean install vray in unreal, I have vray in unreal. I don't wanna make it from scratch. I don't know that much about unreal. It will take weeks may be month to learn and do it. This sucks there is got be way around this.

Vray for Unreal is a separate purchase, is that what you have?

Also some complex networks might not transfer to Unreal, I haven't tried the SSS shader translation to Unreal yet.

In any case , sometimes you have to redo stuff if you missed something in the planing stage.

Other than this, it becomes a Chaos group inquiry and not on the Maya side.

You also gonna have to learn lots in Unreal to animate a cinematic or do it inside Maya with Vray.

I know little basic in camera action in unreal  it just to showcase my work If I follow simple step according to tutorials I can acheive it but I can't get the textures get realistic if I don't know how to do it unreal .I'm not having problem in texturing in may . I'm having problem in exporting them so it's not chaos group problem. I searched in community so many of them asked since 2012, 2017. You guys are not fixing the issue. It's not that hard to fix the plugin. It's basic FBX exporter plugin every 3d softwares has it and works without issue. If you guys don't fix it the basic problem why did we learn maya why are we using it. what you said is I didn't plan it well. I did plan though I don't know this would happen. Instead of talking what happened how to rectify the plugin error.

You could try to create a vray scene and import it to unreal.

Recreating your vray material in unreal will be the cleanest way.

So I can export Vraytextures like that in maya? I don't know the method

How unreal will connects all nodes same as in maya?

I used lot of multiply and divide. tweaked other setting as well. And its not scene it's character with hair.

Hair is not exporting as well. Hair is created in xgen.

Yes the only way is to recreate the Vray shaders that did not translate well enough into Unreal and take it from there.

The Fbx was not designed to export these modern physically based shaders.

Those maya nodes will not be exported. Unreal has its own version.

Here's a movie  I worked on, you can see SSS shader on the mice and fur and so much more, It is a great tool for cinematics and blocking your shots but is a long journey of learning, just like Maya.

If FBX is not designed for modern physical shaders then which is designed?

Certainly I'm having problem exporting hair as well.

There's no option at the moment, Vray is the best bridge from Maya, Modo has one and probably Blender I imagine.

I seen the mice animation movie. It's super nice. How did you export fur from maya to unreal.

I know you said you achieved look in unreal. But I can't do it there in unreal. Please see the image. I wish I could send you the project you will fix something popup my character in unreal. I wanted to animation like that in real time. I have scene in unreal as well. Only thing is exporting problem that's where Iam stuckedScreenshot (591).png

We don't need the whole scene, just one hair will do, delete everything else and provide the steps you are doing to export.

Is looking really nice, congrats on the realism.
