Hi @CoolCosmos!

Are you sure you smoothed the mesh and aren't in preview smooth mode?

To check in Maya press the '1' key and see if your model changes. If it does go to Mesh->Smooth and then re export to Unity!

Please hit the Accept as Solution button if my post fully solves your issue, or reply with additional details if the problem persists.

Kudos are greatly appreciated. Everyone likes a thumbs up!

Hello sean.heasley

Thanks for trying to help me. I have tried what you said but it isn't still smooth in unity. I have used Smooth options in maya then exported again but it didn't work too. I have added a new screenshotto tell you what i mean.

It is first time i design a character in maya and exporting. I encountered this issue.

If your newly subdivided mesh in Unity still looks faceted, that would be an issue with the normals. Select your mesh in Maya and hit Mesh Display > Smooth Normals (or Soften Edge, can't remember). You will need to be in the modeling context for this. When you export the FBX make sure you are also exporting the smoothing groups.

You could also select all of the edges on your mesh and using the Shift-Right Click marking menu smooth it in the Normals menu.

Hi @CoolCosmos

@Anonymous beat me to it 😛 select your mesh and try Mesh Display-> Smooth Edge and see if that works!

When you go to export make sure you have smoothing groups and smooth mesh toggled on.

Thank you guys sean.heasley and Mike_Rochefort.

I also had created a new thread on Unity3d forum about this issue. I received a message about this issue by a good person. He told me that i should fix this in unity3d. I tried what he said and it worked. Character's eyes still looks like a rectangle. I don't know how to fix this. I am amateur about designing models. I hope i will learn more in future. Thanks again for your kind replies. 🙂
