Export selection not working

Hi, I'm new to Maya, and I'm having an issue with exporting. I want to export a selection as an OBJ, but when I go to the export window the "Export Selection" button is dark grey and does not allow me export. I have tried selecting different folders to save in, as well as different file types, but the error is the same. I also tried exporting from different scene files in different project folders that I know I've exported from before to check if the file I am trying to export from is corrupted, but now I can't export from the other scene files as well. This was working up until recently, so I think I may have changed a setting by accident, but am not sure.

I am using Maya 2019 Student Version on Windows 10.

Thanks for posting! Is it still grayed out after you enter a file name? The image shows that its blank (field right above the OBJ format).
