Easy Animation with delay

Hi there,

Im sure there is a pretty simple solution to this. Although we all know lovely Maya.

I have three  objects [obj1, obj2, obj3] next to each other in space. When animating obj1s translate, I want obj2 & obj3 to follow smoothly and ease into the ending positon with an (adjustable) delay. Kind of magnetic-hovering action, if that make sense. 

There are some posts in the forum on using expressions or the cacheframeNode. I could not get it to work properly with neither methods.
