Display zooms in and out

Anonymous
Not applicable

I'm unsure of what is causing my problem. I have Maya 2016 student version. I'm trying to do the UVMapping tutorial. When I open the file, the display zooms in and out on it's own. I've checked my GPU drivers and, they are all up to date. I have a GTX970 GPU. Can anyone tell me what is causing this to happen? It makes it almost impossible to select UVs. Thanks for any suggestions!

I've downloaded and installed screencast but, I can't figure out how to use it. I'm not sure what it will tell you even if I could figure it out. It's just that the scene view zooms in and out.

Hi!

I need more info.

As for now i only understand this:

By doing nothing your camera moves or zooms in and out of the scene in a loop like when it's animated but you don't use playback.

That's nearly impossible. This could only happen by using a script.

So with this information i can only suggest the following:

1. Import the scene into a new one.

2. Try a reset of your preferences.
Rename the folder prefs in folder 2018 to something like prefs_backup, or to reset everything, the folder 2018 to 2018_backup (or even the maya folder to maya_backup). Maya creates new folders (don't copy preferences from previous Maya versions). Detailed at:
