Hi there,
we are working on a scene in which we use a lot of AE integration (mostly for Trapocde Form). For example we have a cube in maya. I would like to make planes from each side of the cube and send it to After Effects. At the moment my workflow is:
- creating the cube
- creating 6 planes
- attaching each plane to the surface (by using the "snap together tool")
- these layers i send to after effects as well as the camera information by AE live link
To improve the workflow I would like to know how I can create planes from faces? By using the "extract"- command I cannot create a plane with the correct Position information for after effects. Maybe it´s possible to use the vertex global rotation and position of the cube´s faces and creating a plane with them?
I am relatively new to Maya, so I am sorry if the solution is too obvious 😉
