Constant error message

Hello everyone

I've recentely installed Maya 2017, but since I made adjustments about infinite CTRL-Z in the preferences, it keep showing me the same error message everytime I click somewhere with an object selected :

// Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2017/scripts/others/drInit.mel line 1961: Object '' not found. //

It hadn't iterfered with the modelling (yet), bit it is quite annoying

Same. It doesn't seem to affect anything, but the constant error message is distracting.

Someone said to delete everything in your Documents/maya folder. It worked for me. It seems that something gets corrupted in the project folder. Thanks!

Still getting the error message. I don't know if you mean delete the individual project folder on which you are working, or if you mean delete all your projects out of the Documents folder.

I'm a new user so I could safely delete the entire maya folder. It must be something that happens in the preferences. It will probably come back!

I deleted the folder, the error message went away, but it came back.

This error occured when I opened an FBX file from an earlier version of maya, and I think it left some log entries and other files in the maya documents folder... I removed a few but still not sure which one was the exact cause for the issue, I'll keep you all updated

"all you can do at this moment to get rid of the spam in the log is to re-launch modeling toolkit. if button on the right is grayed out you can always do it from "Mesh Tools > Show Modeling Toolkit"

I found the solution here

The problem is, Maya is trying to find something that has not been set up as part of your workspace.

But if you open Maya, go to Mesh Tools > Show Modelling Toolkit

Then under Preferences, press Save and restart Maya.

It worked for me, so hope it works for your guys 🙂

I too faced similar errors several times, but then I went to the prefernce and activated all the plugins and it worked
