For roughly 2 weeks now I've been struggling to fix this issue with multiple versions of Maya (mainly 2022 & 2023) where it will seemingly crash for no reason while I try to animate. There isn't any hang ups/lagging, nor are there any errors reported in the script editor beforehand. This is on multiple systems, both my desktop and laptop (both of which are "gamer-y" so specs *shouldn't* be an issue.)
I've tried all solutions from the official "Frequent crashing in Maya shortly after startup or when using the program" troubleshooting page, I've tried re-installing 2022 and 2023 multiple times on both systems, I've used the Scene Lint window in the debugging toolkit to optimize my animation, etc. etc.
2023 error reads something like : Access violation code c0000005 (first/second chance not available) - illegal read at address...(so and so)
I have no clue why Maya is refusing to cooperate almost completely, but due to the fact that it's crashing randomly on two different systems makes me think the issue is somehow software or license related? Idk, attached is a file that I've been consistently having these issues on, maybe its something weird with the rig or scene somehow. Any help is appreciated.
The file seems fine on my end, so that's good news.
Nice rigged character.
Make sure you are updated.
Okay, that's very good, hopefully someone from autodesk will take a look at this . See if you can save a crash report or any additional errors from the scene and update your post.
Good luck.
Almost a month later and still having these issues...
I don't wanna sound like *that guy* but you'd think there would be better support from Autodesk considering how they force users to pay so much for their programs.
