Hi djxyz ,

I'm also absolutly don't understand why they ****ing delete these possibility shotcut!

Now the slide process on Maya is slower than before and a pan to use!

It took me few days to adapt to this new changes in MAYA. after mapping slide edge to keyboard "A" I found it easier to use especially when I use it with tweak mode. (less key to press) try to customize your hotkey. it will make your life easier.

what I heard from old user is that they keep changing MAYA interface every few releases so we can only adapt to the new changes...

so far I am very happy with having MTK integrated with Maya default manipulator. sculpt tool also is a big addition, however, I am still sad due to the fact that they dont improve node editor....

and 3dsmax 2016 gets awesome MaxCreationGraph. which makes MAYA node editor even more embarassing 😞

sad sad sad

I too find this a problem.  I don't often use the slide edge option, I really need the slide vertex along edge.  This was a nice feature in the NEX toolkit that was integrated into Maya interface.  Where has it gone???

Hi,
to slide vertices along edge use Ctrl + MMB.

That does not work.  That only constrains it to the axes of the manipulator.

I have found the solution.  One must first enable "reposition using MMB" under manipulators in the preferences menu.

hi guys,

i hate this as well!

a found a short way to slide vertex/edges;

assign a keyboard shortcut to the command "slide edges" located under mesh tool windows.

so everytime i have to slide i press first assigned button to switch into slide mode and to start sliding.

bye

That doesn't work for vertices. Why did they cut this option? It's very annoying. I want to slide vertices along the edges by holding crtl+shift. How can I do it in Maya 2016?

You can create a hotkey to toggle Slide Surface on and off. Open the hotkey editor and enter "slide" in the search box...then scroll down to the modeling toolkit section and assign your hotkeys.
