Component editor is very slow in Maya 2026

Hi everyone, I'm working on a rig in Maya 2026 and experiencing severe performance issues with the Component Editor.
I want to use the component editor to precisely edit the weight influences, in the smooth skins section ; manually changing the values instead of painting them, or setting to 0 entire influences. Selecting just one vertex slows the whole software, and it takes a few second to update when I manually change the values. It gets worse the more vertex I work on. I do not understand how this is working slow whereas the paint skin weight tool works fine.
Is there any fix, or maybe a workaround ?
