Change user status color label on sequencer shots

I'd like to be able to change the color of userStatus on sequencer shot node. 

Say I have 3 shots. I want to be able to give shot 1 red, 2 blue, and 3 green colors. Is this possible via some mel trickery?

Sorry it is not possible. The colors are hardcoded in the sequencer.

We had someone on our team a few years ago who we've lost contact with. He was able to add colors, so it IS possible.
